"The Mystery Box Challenge brought out incredible creativity in our team. The energy was electric, and we're still talking about it months later."
A halal-sourced, no-pork, no-lard kitchen where every member of your diverse team can eat everything on the table. Corporate cooking and baking team building for 10–80+ pax in the Singapore CBD.

For HR managers planning team building for diverse Singapore teams, halal-friendly catering isn't a nice-to-have, it's the difference between an event where everyone participates and one where Muslim colleagues quietly eat from a separate plate. Around 15% of Singapore residents identify as Muslim, and in any team of 20 you're also likely to have colleagues who don't eat beef, vegetarians, and people who simply prefer halal-quality standards. A halal-sourced kitchen solves all of this at once, because it's fundamentally about ingredient transparency.
Every piece of meat, poultry and processed ingredient is from halal-certified suppliers, with supply-chain documentation available on request.
For events that need formal certification, government agencies or religious organisations, we can arrange MUIS halal cleansing at additional cost.
Alcohol is never used in cooking. Guests may bring wine for the dining portion, or request a fully alcohol-free environment.
No 'split menu' awkwardness, when your team eats what they cooked, everyone at the table eats the same food.

A high-octane blend of strategy, speed and culinary skill. Teams race the clock through edible 'Roadblocks' and 'Detours' before a final cooking showdown. The ultimate test of communication and grace under pressure.

A test of resourcefulness: teams turn a surprise assortment of ingredients into a cohesive dish, emphasising quick decision-making and creative problem-solving. Halal and vegetarian options available.

A designated leader identifies secret ingredients by taste alone to 'unlock' supplies. A test of trust, palate and clear communication, perfect for teams rebuilding rapport.

Growth happens outside the comfort zone. Teams overcome mental blocks handling and cooking live seafood, a powerful metaphor for tackling business challenges that builds resilience and trust.

A powerful exercise in non-verbal communication. With speaking removed, teams find creative ways to coordinate, highlighting clarity and attention, with a penalty for breaking silence.

A secret saboteur works to derail your team as you execute a gourmet menu. Teams must communicate and double-check each other's work to deliver a restaurant-quality dish through the chaos.

A complex meal against a ticking clock where success demands absolute clarity and trust. Expect urgency, the fun kind of shouting, and the satisfaction of delivering a perfect service.

Learn exceptional plating from our resident chef, then create culinary works of art. Teams are awarded one, two or three stars on presentation, ideal for precision-loving teams.

A true test of creativity: teams fit a few random, unique ingredients into a three-course meal, innovating with the odd and unexpected. Great for cross-functional, knowledge-driven teams.

We design bespoke culinary team building from scratch around your objectives, group size, dietary needs and budget. Past events include product-launch tie-ins and MasterChef-themed competitions.
There's no halal premium, our standard pricing reflects halal-sourced operation. Premium competition formats from $120/pax. MUIS halal cleansing, if required, is quoted separately.

The teams who book our halal events tell us the same thing: finally a place where everyone eats together.
This is the section we want every HR manager to read carefully. Here's exactly what we offer, and what we don't.

Every piece of meat, poultry and processed ingredient is purchased from halal-certified suppliers. Our supply-chain documentation is available on request for clients who require evidence for internal compliance.

For clients who require formal certification, government agencies, religious organisations, or events with senior Muslim guests, we can arrange MUIS halal cleansing for the kitchen at additional cost. Most corporate clients don't require this.

Some clients bring wine for dinner events, permitted in the dining area but never used in cooking. If your event requires a fully alcohol-free environment, just let us know during booking and we'll note it on the event brief.
Honest disclosure: D'Open Kitchen is halal-sourced but not MUIS halal-certified by default. If full MUIS certification is essential for your event, please mention this when enquiring and we'll quote the cleansing service.

We operate as a halal-sourced kitchen by default, all ingredients from halal-certified suppliers with a strict no-pork, no-lard policy. We are not MUIS-certified as a venue by default, but can arrange MUIS halal cleansing at additional cost for events that require formal certification.
Halal-sourced refers to our ingredient procurement and kitchen practices, every component is halal-compliant. MUIS certification is a formal certification involving on-site audits and inspections. Most Muslim participants are satisfied with halal-sourced operation; MUIS certification is typically needed for government events or events with senior religious figures present.
