Tortilla Espanola is considered to be Spain's national dish and it is propbably one of the easiest Spainish dish to make. Tortilla Espanola is an omelette consisting of mainly julienned potatoes, capsicum and chorizo (Spanish sausage). Simple ingredients but explosive flavours!

  • Non Stick Pan
  • Whisk
  • Peeler


  • 125 ml Vegetable Oil
  • 4 whole Potatoes Sliced to matchsticks
  • 1 qty Onion Diced
  • 1 whole Green/Red Capsicum Small Cubes
  • 100 grams Chorizo Cubed
  • 4 qty Eggs Whisked
  • Pinch of Salt & Black Pepper


  • On a fry pan on medium heat heat up the oil then add your potatoes and onion to shallow fry until cooked. Removed and drain from oil.
  • When the potato mixture is cooled to room temperature, mix with eggs, chorizo & capsicum then season generously with Salt and Pepper.
  • On a low medium heat fry pan, cook the mixture (no stirring) until 'cake' is set.
  • Flip on a plate to serve.


  • use cast iron skillet pan for best result
  • make sure you use only Chorizo sausage as chorizo is the key ingredient that gives the tortilla its unique flavour
